Tell us about your training
I definitely like routine and I like to experiment a lot in the sense of working out what works for my body and what doesn’t. As an athlete, you always want to go out there and be better than you were before; chasing times, chasing records. I think that’s a given with my mentality, with my training, that I’m always just going to try and be better and be the best I can be.
Why is taking vitamins and supplements important to you?
A sprint event can come down to the hundredth of a second where somebody wins or loses, it’s always about going that extra mile, taking that extra edge. For me, taking vitamins, I’ve noticed that my performance has improved. I always have to look at the long-term goal and small things, such as taking a supplement with breakfast can make such a major difference.
My trainer recommends all of the supplements that my group and I take. He’s personally found that the Solgar brand has a lot of variety in terms of what we need and we know what’s in them. We know that Solgar products are batch tested and cleared for sports professionals like ourselves.
I also know that my competitors are going to be training just as hard, but I’m looking after my body internally which is why I take Solgar vitamins and minerals, to make sure that internally I’m stronger and I have a competitive edge in comparison to someone who doesn’t take vitamins.
Which Solgar products do you take?
I take Solgar Magnesium at night and I also take Solgar Skin, Nails & Hair on a daily basis to maintain a good appearance. When I step away from the track, it’s important that my hair and nails are looking nice and my skin is vibrant and clear.
