From humble beginnings on the East Side of Manhattan, Solgar has grown into one of the industry's oldest and most respected researchers and manufacturers of nutritional supplements, available in health food stores world-wide.

  • 1947Solgar is founded and introduces the first high potency natural multivitamin with minerals.
  • 1968Introduced sugar, salt and starch free supplements and strive to eliminate preservatives, artificial flavours and colours from formulas.
  • 1975Launched Formula VM75 - the first multivitamin with amino acid chelated minerals.
  • 1989Launched Formula VM2000 - the first multivitamin to include amino acids.
  • 1991Launched Earthsource - a multivitamin with wholefood concentrates and probiotics.
  • 1993Vegetable Capsules, the worlds first all vegetarian capsule launched.
  • 1995Solgar introduces the industry's first nutritional resource on the internet - www.solgar.com
  • 1995Introduction of Standardised Full Potency (SFP) Herbs. The first herbal range to provide scientifically proven standardised actives with the whole herb.
  • 1996Launched Omnium - the first multivitamin with a substantial phytonutrient blend.
  • 1997Introduced KOF-K Kosher products.
  • 1999Introduced the first certified and guaranteed non-GMO soy to it's products across the range.
  • 2001Introduced Advanced Acidophilus, state of the art patented probiotics that are resilient to stomach acid and do not require refrigeration.
  • 2002Vegetable Capsules Softgels launched.
  • 2003Kangavites - the exciting new product range for kids launched.

  • 2006Launched Nutri-Nano CoQ10 3.1x softgels, the natural products industrys first highly bio-available form of co Q10.
  • 2007Introduced PM Phytogen Complex and Caricol Organic Papaya Puree.
  • 2008Launched Omega Advanced Blend 2:1:1 a unique vegan blend of nutritional oils, including DHA.
  • 2009Launched Methylcobalamin, the active form of vitamin B12.
